Know what you want
For some people this can be the most difficult part of having a Balanced life!
It may be why many people don't currently have one! They know what they don't want and what they think they can't have, but when it comes to answering questions like...
- What do you really want?
- What's really important to you?
- What values and standards do you want to live your life by?
- What contribution do you want to have made?
- And to whom?
- What legacy do you want to leave in the world?
- What do you want to have done?
- Where do you want to have visited?
- What do you want to have experienced?
... then they feel stuck!

- decide to spend as much time as it takes* in a comfortable place with paper and coloured pens... think, dream, doodle, plan, talk with those important to you until you form a vision of what you really want in your life in the longer term. It's about what sorts of things you want to exchange your time, your energy, your resources and your life for...
* if you find yourself reacting against this, just think about how much time you might spend choosing a new kitchen, a holiday, a car or what to have for dinner..!
Make your vision real by thinking about it often and imagining yourself living the sort of life you want -
- What are you doing?
- How are you feeling?
- Who are you with?
- What can you see going on around you?
- What can you hear?
- What are you saying to yourself?
Start to make it come real by identifying the tangible steps and goals that will turn your vision into your reality...
